Sewing...

is good for the brain.

I strongly believe that sewing is one of the most important pre-writing activities for multiple reasons.

First, it helps the child handle tiny and sharp objects safely and this is not something which is taken for granted by many families. It is a matter of trust between us and our children. At the same time it strenghtens the muscles of the hands + fingers thus enhancing those precious fine motor skills.

Second, it boosts their self-esteem because we are giving them a difficult task but not so difficult. They can reach it by themselves and they learn how to focus on something which requires silence and a certain level of effort.

Finally, they have the opportunity to create a new product which will be the tangible result of their work.

Age: 3-99

I have purchased this set from a local store but it is sold online as well.

Enjoy!
